Life Of The Dead - Live, in Berkeley, CA

January 23, 2010

Life of the Dead -Theme, by Amit Poznansky, was performed live at Berkeley Piano Club, CA, by flutists Carol Alban and Nancy Tyler, cellist Suellen Primost, and pianist Dylan Bard. In the Bach and Beyond Benefit Concert for IDA's Haiti Disaster Relief Fund.  You can listen to the recording here.

Orchestrations / Musical Production

September - December  2009

Amit completed orchestrations and musical production for 3 major theater projectsYentl (Music by Yossi Ben-Nun),  a production of the Cameri Theater, The Count of Monte Cristo (Music by Dori Parnes), Beer Sheva Theater, and Peter Pan (Music by Tal Blecharovitz), Haifa & Orna Porat Theaters. The first two productions are honoured with numerous nominations for the upcoming Theater Award Ceremony, including the best-music-score category.

Cinematic Orchestra One

June 2009

Amit Poznansky has been working for over a year for the Los Angeles based company Integration Music IncHe composed and produced 10 pieces which are now included in the new release: Cinematic Orchestra One.  All pieces are available for licensing and can be used in film / television / radio productions. Premiere of "Life of the Dead" Song Cycle

The premiere of Amit's song-cycle, Life of the Dead, based on poems by Hanoch Levin, performed by the Copenhagen Girls' Choir (Sankt Annæ Pigekor), and conducted by Claus Vestergaard Jensen, has just taken place at the Esajas Church in Copenhagen, Denmark. A video of the 3rd movement, can be viewed here.  More details can be found at Edition Svitzer's website and on Amit's MySpace blog.

Shakespeare's Sonnet 130

November 2008

Amit's composition of Shakespeare’s Sonnet 130, is a part of a 5-sonnet cycle, all performed by the acclaimed Tenor Guy Mannheim. The cycle will be published by Edition Svitzer during 2009.  To read about Mr. Mannheim and listen to the sonnet please click here.

"Fiddler on the Roof"

May 2008

The premiere of the new production of the musical Fiddler On The Roof  has just taken place at Tel-Aviv's Cameri Theater.  Amit was responsible for the orchestrations' adaptation - combining both samplers and live players.   The show has recently received great reviews in Israel's major newspapers, and is currently a smash hit in Tel-Aviv.  You can now watch a selection of songs at the following YouTube Video.  Enjoy!

Waltz, for Flute & Piano

The piece Waltz for Flute & Piano has just been published by the Edition Svitzer Company, based in Copenhagen, Denmark, and it is now available for online purchase on their websiteAdditionally, it was performed by the great Duo Svitava, in concert at the Royal Danish Academy Of Music, and you can find a video of that performance on the Music Page, as well as at the following link on YouTube.

"Barks"

May  2007  
 
The premiere of the documentary Barks (in Hebrew: 'Nevikhot') by Ram Loevy took place at the Tel-Aviv Cinematheque. Amit was responsible for the original music score. The film was also broadcast on the Israeli Channel 8 ("HOT!" Cable TV). You can find Drifting Away – one of the pieces which were composed for this film - on the music page (track no. 7), featuring violinist Adrian Justus.

"Broadway Big Band" Demos

January   2007  

Amit has been a part of the beta-testing team of Broadway Big BandTM – a high-end virtual instrument by , and has composed the first official public demos of the product. "Life of the Dead" in Concert

November   2006  

 

The suite Life of the Dead was performed by the San Francisco Bay Area Chamber Symphony in a benefit concert for IDA-USA (In Defense of Animals), as part of the "Bach & Beyond" festival, which took place in Oakland, California. The concert was a tremendous success, and the piece was received very enthusiastically. This event was organized by flutist & composer Carol Alban.
